For four centuries, the Republic of Primus and the Realm of the Golden Wood have been at odds. While they used to be allies, wars and cultural differences have torn them apart. In the middle of this divide is Ruth, a deaf Godshard who was raised in both domains. Having seen the good in both, she longs to bring them together again.

But Ruth will find the task difficult, as ancient wounds are not so easily healed. Her plans unravel when monstrous invaders seek to conquer both realms. Ruth must find a way to unite her two homes before it is too late.

This story takes place nine hundred years before Godshards: The Six Strangers. Before the Island City, the Sacerdozio, before most spells were discovered. During a time when the Godshards were way fewer and many were untested.

This story intended to be a standalone side story and a separate jumping on point.

  • Ruth

Ruth is a woman born of two worlds. Born deaf she was abandoned by humans, yet when she became a Godshard she returned to them. Her Shard makes her quite powerful and her ability to cast spells via Benelim Sign Langauge is potent.

Ruth is an optimistic person and sees the good in everyone. Her exposure to both Benelim and human societies has fashioned a unique perspective that unknown to all, just might save them when a crisis comes to both realms...

  • Sheba

Sheba is Ruth's best friend and lover. An old soul and a free spirit, Sheba has a passive charisma not even more powerful Godshards have. Her friendliness and outgoing nature are an immense boon to Ruth, whom Sheba is usually her interpreter.

Sheba is also that crucial confidant Ruth needs. Supporting her when she needs it, and being stern when Ruth needs to be brought back to earth. No matter what they face, Sheba will always be at Ruth's side.

  • Leela

Leela is a Benelim, an off-shoot race of Nephilim more human in terms of size. She is also an Animite, which are Benelim who are more beastial with animal like faces, antlers, hooves and much more. They are just as intelligent as their more common brethren but are functionally mute, hence the existence of Benelim Sign Langauge.

It is through this sign language that Leela was able to connect with Ruth, ever since she found her as a baby. Leela is very protective and loving of her. Her disdain of humans is great however and she's reluctant to trust them. Will this distrust drive a wedge between their relationship or will love shine through?

  • Katherina

Katherina is Leela's best friend, one of the Benelim, an off-shoot race of Nephilim comparable to humans. The two of them are capable huntresses and trackers. Katherina became like a aunt to Ruth, nearly a second mother.

But Katherina is highly distrusting of humans due to centuries of tension and struggles to wrap her head around Ruth's enigmatic ways. As things come to ahead, the oncoming crisis will put their relationship to the test...escription goes here

  • Clodius Decimus

Clodius is a member of the Decimi family, one of the founding families of Primus, an ancient city and the capital of the Republic of Primus.

He is a senator, general and the current Consul of War. Despite his high ranking status, Clodius is a man who is down to earth and empathetic to the plights of the lower classes. He also values and venerates the Godshards.

As the times change and new threats arise from within and without, Clodius finds himself working with Ruth. Drawn to her power and her aura. Will he prove to be a worth while ally or falter when they need him?

  • Elias

Elias is the eldest Godshard, the last of the six disciples who trained under the first Godshard Adam. He is old in years and rich in wisdom. Open minded and powerful, he sees immense potential in Ruth, if he just nurtures and cultivates it.

Yet his best days are behind him and he knows the crisis that will be arriving at their doorstep soon. Ruth doesn't know it but he's preparing her for what's the come. Will his preparation be enough?
